Getting your permit

Students must purchase a driver's training permit from their local DMV before beginning a driver's training program. You will need the following documents:

• Birth Certificate or official copy
• Photo Identification (yearbook, activity card, passport)
• Social Security Card or number for verification
• Verification of School Compliance (VOC) available from your school administrative office

You must have your parent or guardian with you so they can sign the consent form for you to be licensed. They also will need to have proof of identity and guardianship.
